The Media Player Window

The Media Player Window uses underlying technologies like DirectX and COM to allow multimedia playback, including more recent formats like MPG. As the Windows Media Player components support new media types in the future, so can PhotoViewer evolve and leverage on these advances.

On earlier versions of Windows 95, you may need to download the DirectX components from Microsoft's web site. They are free of charge. If your computer does not have these components installed, then PhotoViewer will attempt to use your older version of the Media Player program, but it is not guaranteed to work in all cases.
